Bengal IPS cadre reshuffled

first_imgKolkata: In a reshuffle in the IPS cadre in Bengal, director of the Directorate of Economic Offences (DEO) in the rank of Additional Director General (ADG) Bibhuti Bhusan Dash, has become the ADG Planning. Vishal Garg, Additional Commissioner of Police (V) in the rank of Inspector General of Police (IGP), has been made the director of DEO in the rank of IGP.Commissioner of Kolkata Police Rajeev Kumar will be supervising the work of DEO as ‘additional assignment’. Dash, who is an officer of ADG rank, used to report to the state’s Home Secretary, while Garg, being an officer of IGP rank, will be reporting to Kumar.Soumo Majumdar, assistant commandant of the 1st battalion of Durgapur, has been brought to the Directorate of Security. Saptarshi Bhattacharya, assistant commandant of the 3rd battalion of EFR, has also been brought there and Prasanta Debnath, assistant commandant of the 7th battalion of the State Armed Police, has been brought to the RAF battalion in Durgapur.last_img
